For the second time in as many years, Ben Caballero, broker-owner of HomesUSA.com in Dallas, has broken the Guinness world record for the highest number of home sales in a single year. He sold 5,801 homes in 2018—exceeding $2 billion in sales volume—which translates to an average of more than 100 home sales a week, or nearly 16 every single day of the year.
Caballero also won the Guinness title last year after selling 3,556 homes in 2016. He became the first real estate professional ever to be recognized by Guinness World Records. Caballero’s name can be found in the Guinness World Records under “most annual home sale transactions through MLS by an individual sell side real estate agent.”
“Being honored by Guinness World Records for a second time is twice as nice,” Caballero says. “Achieving the first Guinness World Records title was the honor of a lifetime. Breaking my own record is, well, indescribable.”
“Among the thousands of real estate professionals we have recognized over the years, no one has come close to breaking Ben’s achievements,” says Steve Murray, president of REAL Trends, an industry research group. “Ben smashing his own phenomenal Guinness world record is stunning.”
How does he do it? Caballero specializes in new-home sales, representing more than 60 builders in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, Caballero was a builder for 18 years.
