Texas real estate pro Ben Caballero is making headlines again by topping his previous sales record in 2016 with a new world record of $1.9 billion in home sales in 2017, according to an announcement on Monday.
Caballero sold 4,799 homes last year, which totaled $1.906 billion. Caballero is a real estate professional with HomesUSA.com in Addison, Texas. In 2016, his $1.444 billion in sales among 3,556 homes landed him the title
as real estate’s first Guinness World Record holder.
How’d he do it? Nearly all of Caballero’s transactions are for homebuilders. He lists homes for more than 60 builders in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. In 2017, he basically sold an average of 92 homes a week.
“Texas is my not-so-secret sauce,” Caballero says. “It’s the nation’s most vibrant homebuilding market, with Dallas-Forth Worth being the highest-ranked market for builders in the country. When one factors Houston’s recovering from Hurricane Harvey, Austin’s continuing its burgeoning pace, and the unique qualities that make San Antonio attractive, Texas continues to prove itself a winner for homebuilders. Because these markets have remained strong and stable in 2018, I’m on pace this year to break my 2017 record.”
Caballero holds the official Guinness World Records title for “most annual home sales transactions through MLS by an individual sell side real estate agent.”
